Any Discus keepers?

Postby Aquatic Dreams » Wed Sep 07, 2011 7:25 am

Hey all,

Many years ago I kept & bred some real nice Discus, none of the "Hollywood" types that are around these days but all the old types, Brown, Green etc etc
I moved house and lost the lot, I swore I would never keep them again, But.......... Some real nice Browns came into work yesterday and I'm tempted :)
If I get some I'll throw some pics up...Ahh WTH! I'll get some pics today while I'm at work :)

So is there any Discus keepers on the forum?
Sometimes I pretend to normal!
But I get bored and I go back to being me.

Discus are awsome
My brother.. also on this forum Angelo had some

had them for 18 months in a 4 footer
have a vid of them on my phone will try and up load.. def amazing to look at

some people think the care required for them is too much.. ive seen myself the change in discus from juvies grow into full adult size who were breeding.. all that was done to the tank was water changes 25-30% twice a week some prime and lots of food... blood worms etc.. discus are not hard to keep if you make sure all the basics are covered.. good filter/heater/food some people do look to much into it..

Ive seen those pics of mike on the other forum.. def something im saving up for....
would love to get 7 and hopefully in a year or so get them breeding.. would be a good challenge

for me personally its a battle which to get first discus or fronties.. :/
